my contribution to the Weekly Challenge - think it's 25th of this month?

These are real leaves. There was a thread on UKs saying that if you PVA leaves they stay OK on LO's - however after I PVA'd them and stuck them on, I suddenly realised that I didn't PVA the underside - so I shall just wait and see what happens to the leaves.

I had lost my mojo for a very long time - weeks and weeks, so I am real pleased I managed to do this LO.

Hope you all like it to.

Saturday 14 June 2008

sorry things are not in order LOL. Look at the photos in conjunction with the description.

this is how is should look when it is folded and the holes punched/cut.
This shows the way to fold i.e. valley or mountain fold
This is the position of the punched out square.
Are we ready for part 2-

Using the second piece of pattern paper- cut a 10 x 10 square.

With the wrong side facing up fold in half and crease well.

Turn the paper and fold in to a square

Now the third fold -turn the paper over with and fold diagonally to form a triangle Crease well.

Open out and fold the paper from corner to corner and push the traingle bits inside

The whole thing should now fold into a square with the diagonal

folds inside the square!!??

I will add a photo to show you.

Amanda if you can add to that explanation please do!

You now need to make a small aperture. Keeping the folded side to the bottom and left hand side punch or cut a square 1 1/2 inches. This should be 1/2 inch in from top and 1/2 inch in from the left hand side. You need to cut through 3 layers don't cut through the last whole square (the back )

PART THREE
with the off cuts from the second pattern paper- the one you cut the 10 x 10 square from cut the following.
1 x 12 strip(inch)
2 x 10 strip (inch)
1/2 x 12 strip(inch).
With rest of the left overs from both pattern papers punch out assorted sizes of flowers- if you have no punches draw some and cut out or if you have a die cutting machine or Craft Robo use that.
PUTTING THE LAYOUT TOGETHER
Take your background cardstock and stick the 1 x 12 strip approx 1 inch from bottom
Take the 10 x 2 and stick 1 3/4 down from top and 1 inch in from right side.
Take the 1/2 x 12 and stick 6 inches down from top.
Stick the large flower centrally on the layout.
The landscape photos needs to be stuck diagonally across the left corner- the top corners of the photo should touch the left and top edges of the layout.
Stick the booklet so the edge with the punched out square is along the bottom of the photo. The bottom point of the booklet should roughly touch the 1 inch strip you stuck on earlier.
Now you are ready to attach the portrait photo.
Stick this to the flap only half way across putting the left top corner to the flap top point. see photo of layout.
Add a photo turn to either side of the flap to keep it closed. Inside the flap you can add small photos or journal. Either stick a flower in the aperture or a photo so it shows through.
Fix the assorted size flower randomly over the layout -(see photo) Nearly done!!!!!!!
Add a title along the bottom 1 inch wide strip.
And that is basically it- if you are stuck shout.

Penny lo and instructions

FLOWER TEMPLATE
This needs to be freehand cut if you dont have a template from 1 piece of double sided papttern paper. You need to cut out the inner line on each petal. The flower needs to fill the 12 x 12 paper ie petals nearlt touching edges. Also you can get your photos matted they are 1 6x4 landscape and 1 6 x 4 portrait. Mat them onto a co-ordinating cardstock.Leave a very narrow border.I will give you all the next step when I get back from crop about 5-30.
